Originally developed as a harness for British aristocrats, bridle leather is highly durable. The oil and wax rubbed into the inside of the leather complements the strength of the fiber structure, and it is also relatively water-resistant among leather products. The color and luster of the leather will deepen over time, while retaining its original appearance of durability and water-repellency.

There is a whitish powdery substance called “bloom” on the surface, but this is a characteristic of bridle leather as the wax that did not enter the leather crystallizes and rises to the surface. The more you use the leather, the more the white “bloom” will peel off little by little, and the original leather will peek out.
